Manila has a population of more than 15 million inhabitants, of which almost half lives in illegal slum areas. More than 100,000 children live on the streets. They receive less attention and acceptance in their families than they do in street gangs, where everyday life includes abuse, conflict, violence, addiction and the struggle for survival.
